There are fashion illustrations, and then there are floral fashion illustrations

Think Singapore lacks creativity?

You’re looking in the wrong places, or at least not spending enough time on Instagram.

A recent stalking online research session led us to Singaporean artist Grace Ciao, who’s been using real flower petals to convey fashion illustrations in 3D.

Her sketches of women — sometimes faceless and other times based on real people like celebrities Fann Wong and Joanne Peh — are stunning, but it is these evening dress interpretations that will really take your breath away.

The one in the top photo is made with — you guessed it — rose petals. Here’s another, carnations this time:

It’s amazing how Ciao uses textures from the natural elements to produce movement so fluid you can imagine how this dress, for example, would feel like on the body.

Damn it, she’s good. We’ve never wanted to wear pink gerberas so much.

Oh Grace Ciao, you do make us proud.

Check out more of her stuff on her website and Instagram page.
